Here are 12 easy peasy home remedies for common skin issues, recommended by Dr Rinky Kapoor, cosmetic dermatologist & dermato-surgeon at The Esthetic Clinics.

1. For pigmentation

Use a cut potato to rub on your skin to avoid and treat pigmentation. You can mix grated potato with lemon juice and apply as a face pack. You can use cucumber juice or lemon juice too.

2. For patchy skin

Apply some fresh aloe vera juice on the face, armpits, and private parts to treat the dark patches.

3. For dull skin

Make a healing face mask by mixing papaya leaf powder, turmeric powder, aloe vera pulp, multani mitti, and milk. Apply on your face and let it dry. Wash with water. This face pack will increase the blood circulation, and restore glow to your face.

4. For skin lightening

Grind some almonds along with a few strands of saffron. Mix it with milk and apply the paste on the areas that have pigmentation. Let it dry and wash off completely. This mask will lighten the skin and even out your skin tone.

5. For stretch marks

Use sandalwood oil on the areas that have stretch marks.

Here’s another formula: you can make a massage oil by mixing 50 ml of sesame oil, 20 drops of lavender oil, 5 drops of neroli oil and 10 ml of wheat germ oil. Use this on your stretch marks before going to bed.

6. For itchy skin

Dip some lemon rind in turmeric powder, and apply it on the itchy areas of the skin. Leave for a few minutes and wash off for instant relief.

7. For chapped lips

Regularly use ghee or vaseline on your lips to prevent them from chapping.

8. For cracked heels

Rose powder and milk cream or coconut oil can be used to prevent cracked heels.

9. For dry skin

Take 10 ml of sandalwood oil and add 5 ml of rose to it. Mix well and add 20 ml of wheat germ oil and 100 ml of sesame oil. Use this massage oil over the body and also the nipples to prevent them from cracking and retracting.

10. For puffy eyes

Mix some turmeric with homemade butter and apply this paste around your eyes.

11. For acne

Use honey as an antiseptic to treat acne and bumps on the skin.

12. For fine lines

Yogurt is a great natural detoxifier for the skin. Rub a thin layer on your skin and leave it on for two to three minutes. A yogurt rub will help remove dead skin cells, tighten the pores, and reduce fine lines.
